The Season of Pink

October is a time for Pumpkin Spice lattes, cool Autumn mornings and everything turning PINK.  Pink ribbons have become the sign of the season and the international symbol of breast cancer awareness.  About 1 in 8 women born today with get breast cancer at some point – and we all should do our part to raise funds to support research and raise awareness.

Grace Style & Bridal is doing our part with our annual “Shop for a Cause” event, now  underway.  All month long we will be donating the discounts our brides receive directly to breast cancer research.

Less is more

Today we focus on less because sometimes less is more.  This is especially true with the “Drabea” from one of our favorite designers, Pronovias.

Drabea is where the simplicity of dreamy crepe meets a bit of sparkle to create a dramatic elegance we haven’t seen the likes of in quite some time.  This dress is causing quite a stir with brides of all ages and seems to be the perfect answer to the question, “Do you have anything that isn’t lace?”

It’s all about that lace, no trouble…

We love it when a bride is feeling the vibe, loving a dress and can’t seem to take it off.   That seems like the perfect time to ask , “Are you thinking about wearing a veil?” The answer is either a pretty solid “YES,” a fairly weak, “I’m really not sure???” (as a question,) or a definite, “NO!” (these are the veil haters.)

So the brides who are a “maybe,” are a treat to play with at this point, I’m not going to lie.  It was already an adventure getting through mermaids, trumpets, A-lines and bushels of tulle. But when it comes to explaining to her that there’s nothing like a simple sheer cathedral veil blowing in the wind at her mountain top ceremony or  how the ocean breeze will catch the veil and lift it perfectly for the most romantic shots…. dreamy!

Yes – we love veils – long veils, short veils, cathedral length – lace edged veils, and the simplicity of a sheer fingertip veil.

So many brides, such a good time

Birthday celebrations are so much fun – the balloons, the treats, the exciting atmosphere …  but nothing compares to the friends that gather to help celebrate as another calendar page turns!

It’s hard to believe it’s been TWO amazing years since we opened our doors to our incredible GSB brides who have taken us on a journey that only a two-year-old toddler can experience — one of excitement, newness, creativity and pure joy! And there’s no better way to share our excitement than to give it away?

Our brides have given us the best two years we could ever imagine so now it’s our turn to be givers!  To show our appreciation, Grace Style & Bridal will be hosting its “Grand Anniversary Giveaway” all month long.  To kick things off, we are giving away a designer wedding gown valued up to $1200 to one lucky bride this August.  All brides and their entourages are encouraged to check out contest details on our Instagram and Facebook pages @GraceStyleandBridal in order to enter on time.

We truly value and appreciate our GSB brides and all the memories we have shared with them.  Customer appreciation is much more than an annual sale – it’s a mindset and a way of treating everyone who comes through the door.

Burlap or blush?

Which came first, the burlap or the blush? That’s the $10,000 question!  There are so many styles and inspirations that our brides dream and talk about.  As the bridal meme says, “Thanks to Pinterest I’m planning two weddings – the one I dream of thanks to Pinterest, and the one I can actually afford!”

We love chatting with our brides at Grace Style & Bridal during their appointments about their wedding plans and styles.  It seems colors and trends tend to run in phases.  Lately there have been a whole lot of navy and blush plans buzzing about.  They seem to be the combos of the moment.   Continue reading “Burlap or blush?”
